What Is A Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel involves a solution being applied to the targeted area for skin rejuvenation. At the Physician Skincare Centre, we use Alpha-Hydroxy acid to help your skin get back its healthy glow. A chemical peel can help diminish brown spots, scars, sun damage and fine lines for an overall brighter and rejuvenated appearance. Regular treatments can further help reduce the affects of sun damage and aging.

How Does It Work?

A chemical peel exfoliates the skin’s most damaged layers and paves the way for new, healthy skin to come through. A chemical peel treatment typically takes between 1-2 hours, during which patients may experience mild tingling or stinging sensation when the peel is applied.

Recovery time will vary from person to person. Patients may experience different degrees of redness and peeling up to 7-10 days following treatment, until new skin emerges. You will be given a post-treatment regime best suited to you to ensure optimal results. With proper care and application, a chemical peel can help give you an overall brighter and rejuvenated complexion without the help of surgery or injectables.
