Scars

Scars are formed when the dermis layer of the skin is damaged. Scars can result from acne, surgery and accidents but only appear once the wound is fully healed.

Collagen fibers in our bodies aid in new tissue growth by forming fresh scar tissue over the damaged area of the skin. While the skin will be considered fully healed, the scar tissue will have a different look and feel than the surrounding tissue.

However, with the help of advanced laser technology, the appearance of scars can be significantly reduced over time.

Wrinkles

While leading a healthy lifestyle can make a big difference in the development of facial lines, ultimately wrinkles are a normal part of the aging process. They will appear over time as collagen and elastin production slows down in our bodies.

Habitual facial expressions, poor hydration, sun damage and bad health habits further promote the formation of wrinkles.

At the Physician Skincare Centre, we offer a fantastic, non invasive laser treatment to help soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

Sun damage

Sun damaged skin results from daily exposure to the sun without proper protection or maintenance in place. Signs of sun damage include brown spots, fine lines, dryness and hyperpigmentation.

At the Physician Skincare Centre, we use laser technology to provide patients a non invasive option for reducing the look of sun damaged skin safely and effectively.

Your solution for reducing scars, wrinkles and sun damage

The Pearl Fractional Laser is a volumizing skin resurfacing laser that send pulses of light to the top layer of the skin and delivers heat to the deeper layers. This repairs the skin from the inside out, stimulating collagen production and a healing response in the dermis layer of the skin. Over time, this healing response helps to diminish skin imperfections like scars, sun spots and uneven skin tone.

The laser’s fractional technology ensures precision targeting of the skin for the utmost safety and most effective results. As a new skin layer is formed, patients will start to notice visibly smoother and softer skin over time.

Before treatment, a topical numbing cream will be applied to the targeted area to reduce discomfort. Patients will feel warm pinches as the laser glides over the skin to repair damaged skin on the surface of the skin.

Following treatment, individuals may experience mild swelling and redness but these symptoms generally subside within a day. Limited sun exposure is recommended for a few days following treatment but otherwise, patients can immediately go back to their regular routine.
