Lipo-dissolve is an injectable fat removal technique which reduces fat cells in the body naturally, without the risks and recovery time associated with invasive surgical procedures such as liposuction. It is intended to reduce stubborn pockets of fat that haven’t responded effectively to diet and exercise. This non-surgical technique is commonly used to reduce fat in the following areas:

Lipo-Dissolve is a procedure that evolved from the French technique of mesotherapy. At Physician Skincare Centre in North Vancouver, all lipo-dissolve treatments are performed by Dr. Bieg. Dr. Bieg received extensive training in mesotherapy, as well as in the American technique of lipo-dissolve. He utilizes the best features of each technique, providing individualized treatments to his clients in order to achieve optimal results.

The ideal candidate for lipo-dissolve is one who maintains a healthy lifestyle, and is no more than 30 pounds overweight. The treatment is not intended for weight loss, but rather for localized fat reduction.

All patients are weighed and measured prior to the procedure. Lipo-dissolve is performed by administering multiple small injections into the treatment area. The injected solution is a combination of natural enzymes specifically chosen by Dr. Bieg. These produce a chemical reaction that gradually destroys the fat cells, essentially “dissolving” fat from the unwanted area. The dissolved fat is then removed from the body during the natural excretion process. To ensure patient comfort, a topical anaesthesia is administered prior to treatment. After the procedure, there may be some localized redness and swelling that generally resolves over several days.

Results typically occur within four weeks, as patients notice a reduction in the treated area, while the overlying skin tightens smoothly and naturally. Optimal results may be obtained with one treatment, although some patients may require up to four treatments spaced approximately six to eight weeks apart, to ensure that the fat is completely removed from the body.
